Parkside charmer sells at auction

Last Saturday the property at 8 Parkside Crescent was sold at auction for a fantastic result. This gorgeous home oozed charm and character, and was lovingly styled in a lived in authentic manner.

This 1930’s home, had been relocated from Balwyn, Melbourne and renovated and re-constructed to create a home that had the charm of yesteryear, with the mod-cons of today. Hydronic heating, the north facing dining space and a large open fire place create a cosy feel in winter, and the large front deck almost becomes another room in itself.

The quirky, home-spun styling reflected the authenticity of the abode, which translated indoors and outdoors alike. A make-do-and-mend theme was expressed from the garden sheds and chook house constructed of salvaged windows and doors. The edible forest garden, and vegetable garden with a variety of fruit trees added to the organic feel of the property. This same theme was carried through to the vintage and natural detailing throughout the home.

The home attracted a huge audience online, with around 50,000 views on realestate.com.au. A large crowd gathered for the auction in the winter sun outside the property where Shaun O’Callaghan opened the bidding at $700,000.00. Three bidders keenly sought to purchase the home, and finally the hammer went down with the final bid at $820,000.00 – A fantastic result for the vendors, and a gorgeous new Surf Coast home for the new owners.

The vendors were thrilled with the campain by One Agency. “We really felt the belief Shaun had in our property stood out for us. Your clear strategies and ongoing open communication throughout the campaign, the creativeness of the whole team, and the genuineness -we really felt like you were all so approachable and real, and just 100% knew you were focused on giving us a positive experience” C&B.
